Government is closer to introducing legislation which establishes minimum standards for tourism and hospitality workers. Labour Minister Colin Jordan, provided the update as the Lower House resumed debate on a resolution for Parliament to take note of the Barbados Population Policy 2023. The move is one of the key tenets of the Labour Clauses Concessions Act, which could result in concessions being revoked if a business does not comply with the legislation. Mr. Jordan says Government is still exploring the possibility of rolling-out paid paternity leave. He is also making a case for provisions to be made in the workplace for breastfeeding mothers.
