Gov't committed in protecting workers rights

Government remains steadfast in its stance to draw the line with any company infringing the rights of workers in Barbados. This assurance from Senator Gregory Nicholls. He notes that the current administration is adamant that any business abusing workers cannot benefit from concessions offered by the Government and the current Labour Clause Legislation has been put in place to ensure that. Senator Nicholls rubbished the Opposition party's claims that the Mia Mottley Government was grandstanding in holding this position opposing big businesses. He made the remark during the BLP St. George North Constituency branch meeting at the Cuthbert Moore Primary School where he spoke on the labour clause legislation. Senator Nicholls says history shows there was a time when the Democratic Labour Party and labour unions had better relations and the workers felt the party had their interest at heart. However, he says, that has all changed.
