Government Blamed For Sugar Shortage

The Opposition United Workers Party continues to blame the Saint Lucia Labor Party Government for the shortage of sugar on the island. The Consumer Affairs Department has placed the blame squarely on the climate change phenomenon and the resulting poor yields from suppliers in Guyana, however, reports from Guyana’s Ministry of Agriculture suggest otherwise.
