Government is stepping up its efforts to enable public servants to effectively navigate the digital landscape and contribute to digital transformation. Minister of Training and Tertiary Education Sandra Husbands says one of the ways Government is seeking to make this possible is through the establishment of a digital academy. It is described as a transformative initiative that will equip public officers at all levels with the digital skills required to succeed in the 21st century. Ms. Husbands made the announcement at the launch of the National Transformation Initiative Public Service E-Learning Hub. Director of the National Transformation Initiative Dr. the Honourable Allyson Leacock says the roll out of the E-Learning Hub is critical at this time when the 2025 Job Skills Report underscores that 71% of employers are likely to prefer a candidate that has digital literacy over another with traditional experience. Dr. Leacock explains the Hub is intended to position all of Barbados' public servants to meet the demands of a digitally-driven world.
