Government ‘not out of the woods’ despite a ‘strong budget position’

Assistant Immigration Minister Matt Thistlethwaite says the government knows it is “not out of the woods” despite a “strong budget position”. Treasurer Jim Chalmers is expected to reveal a second consecutive budget surplus. “The surplus today demonstrates that it’s not good luck but good economic management that’s delivering a strong budget position,” Mr Thistlethwaite told Sky News Australia. “We know we’re not out of the woods.”
