Government’s housing shortfalls ‘exposed’ the ‘unsustainable’ migration model

Institute of Public Affairs Director of Research Morgan Begg claims the government’s housing shortfalls have “exposed” how “unsustainable” its migration model is. The federal government has fallen behind in its housing accord proposal of building 20,000 homes every month until 2029. Data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics show the government is 26 per cent below the required monthly home approvals. “I think what’s really been exposed is just how unsustainable the federal government’s migration approach has been,” Mr Begg told Sky News Australia.
