Government spending is not the ‘primary determinant’ of prices in the economy: Chalmers

Treasurer Jim Chalmers says government spending is not the “primary determinant” of prices in the economy. Mr Chalmers told Sky News Australia that the Opposition like to “pretend” that government spending is the reason for inflation. The annual rate of inflation in the June quarter has risen to 3.8 per cent from 3.6 per cent.
