Greens not setting up ‘reasonable barrier’ with objections to environmental bill

Environment and Water Minister Tanya Plibersek says there is nothing in the government’s environmental bill that the Greens “object to”. This week, Anthony Albanese rejected a deal with the Greens to establish an Environment Protection Authority. “What they are complaining about is that we are not implementing their election policy in our bill – that is not a reasonable barrier,” Ms Plibersek told Sky News Australia.
