Groups not covered under new workplace fairness law will still be protected: Tan See Leng

The Manpower Ministry has assured that groups currently not covered under a new workplace anti-discrimination law will still be protected. The new Workplace Fairness Legislation — set to kick in by next year or in 2027 — gives greater protection to workers and jobseekers on grounds such as nationality, age and sex. While characteristics like sexual orientation and gender identity have not been included, MOM said it may review this in time to come. Manpower Minister Tan See Leng was also in the studio to share more on the kind of help companies can get from MOM in setting up proper grievance handling procedures.
