‘Growing worry’ for Joe Biden’s capacity in ‘most powerful position in the world’

Former Prime Minister John Howard says there is “growing worry” about US President Joe Biden’s “capacity”. President Biden has faced widespread scrutiny following the recent first presidential debate against Donald Trump. Pressure continues to build on Joe Biden to withdraw from the race amid a series of recent public gaffes and after his debate performance. “I think it will work its way towards a situation where it would be very hard for him to carry on,” Mr Howard told Sky News Australia. “I think it does highlight the imperfections of the presidential system. “You’re talking about the most powerful position in the world. “It’s very difficult when the likely choice is between people whose cognitive capacity is under increasing inspection … and somebody who in the case of Trump … would not leave the field when the umpire’s finger went up.”
