Hainan Village Volleyball League powers rural revitalization

"CunVA" or village volleyball is the latest sports fever that has enveloped China's vast countryside. The 2024 Hainan (Wenchang) Village Volleyball League kicked off on June 15 and will run until August 10. This year's competition gathers 17 teams from Wenchang City and seven from other places in Hainan Province. The 45-day competition had attracted over 485,800 visitors in 2023, raking in about 280 million yuan (about $39 million) in tourism revenue.
