Haiti's situation described as complex
Regional grouping, CARICOM, despite its efforts to assist fellow member state, Haiti has not been able to reach any form of consensus between the Haitian government and respective stakeholders in the opposition. Violence has escalated as gangs ramp up pressure on Prime Minister Ariel Henry to secure a political settlement. CARICOM Chairman and President of Guyana, Dr. Irfaan Ali described the unfolding situation in Haiti as complex. The 15-member bloc has been working on the issue around the clock for the last three days.
