Hamas reportedly seeking ceasefire ahead of Ramadan month

A Hamas official has said the group is yet to receive a formal ceasefire proposal. The comment comes despite US President Joe Biden suggesting a truce could come within a week. Israel and Hamas are meeting in Qatar this week to discuss a proposal which would suspend fighting for 40 days. The terrorist group are reportedly seeking a ceasefire in time for their holy month of Ramadan. “My national security advisor tells me we are close,” the US President told the media.
