This afternoon at the Lugogo grounds, the Indian Community in Uganda celebrated the Holi Festival, a celebration of spring, new life and love. The Indian community in Uganda certainly knows how to celebrate in style! The Holi Festival, which took place at the Lugogo Grounds on Sunday afternoon, was a vibrant and joyous celebration of color, music, and dance. The Indian community has had a long history in Uganda, spanning over 120 years, sharing their cultural traditions with the local community. The community's expression of gratitude to President Yoweri Museveni is a testament to the warm relations between Uganda and India which has been instrumental in fostering a conducive environment for the Indian community to thrive. The festival was made even more special with the presence of Indian artists who flew in to perform and entertain the crowd. The event was sponsored by Plascon Paint, which added to the festival's colorful and lively atmosphere. The Holi Festival is a significant event in the Indian calendar, celebrating the arrival of spring and the victory of good over evil. It brings forth a time for fun, food, and merry making.
