Happy Tails: Animal rescue group 'Pigeon Nest' challenges perceptions of misunderstood bir

Pigeons are the world’s oldest domesticated bird and were once welcomed into people’s families as pets. They’ve also been messengers and spies during wartime, saving thousands of lives. But with the invention of the telegraph and other technologies, they were discarded and abandoned. Now, “The Pigeon Nest,” an animal rescue organization in Ontario, wants to show Canadians how much there is still to learn about these misunderstood birds. Miranda Anthistle reports.
