“He was a monster”: Ex-Harrods owner Mohamed Al-Fayed accused of multiple rapes

An investigation by the BBC has exposed over a dozen allegations of rape and sexual assault at the hands of Mohamed Al-Fayed, the former owner of Harrods department store whose son was killed in a 1997 car crash alongside Princess Diana. Lawyers representing Al-Fayed’s alleged victims were joined at a press conference on Friday by a survivor, who called the former Harrods owner “a monster.” Al-Fayed died last year at age 94. The billionaire businessman faced allegations of sexual assault while he was alive, but the BBC documentary Al-Fayed: Predator at Harrods, which aired Thursday, represents the most comprehensive collection of allegations to date.
