West Indies are about to begin a three-day warm-up match against a Cricket Australia XI in Adelaide, starting in a few minutes time. Windies Head Coach Andre Coley says the team has settled nicely and will be aiming for good performances. While the tour match is not an official first-class fixture, which means both teams can rotate more than 11 players through their line-ups, it will provide vital experience for the visitors. Skipper Kriagg Brathwaite is one of only five members of the 15-player group returning to Australia, along with veteran pacer Kemar Roach, fellow fast bowler Alzarri Joseph, wicketkeeper Joshua Dasilva, and opener Tagenarine Chanderpaul. Coley says their approach will be to execute the game plans as best as possible. This is the only warm-up match ahead of the first test which starts January 16. West Indies' last test victory in Australia came at the WACA ground in Perth 27 years ago, while their most recent win away from home came against Bangladesh at Dhaka in February 2021.
