Health Ministry seeks to increase cohort intake of nurses

The Health Ministry is looking to increase the cohort intake of nurses. More courses will be offered at three Institutes of Higher Learning in the coming months. The ministry says ensuring a strong local core is key to its recruitment efforts. This was announced at a merit award ceremony which recognised 150 nurses from various sectors. One of them is Chen Dongxia, Senior Nurse Manager at the Major Operating Theatre Group, Singapore General Hospital. She tells CNA's Syahida Othman more about the role of nurses and how she and her team keep up to date in the important field of robotic surgery.
