The Minister for health Dr. Jane Ruth Aceng has urged all stakeholders to work together to promote safe use of antimicrobials. She also urged healthcare professionals to prescribe antibiotics responsibly and patients to adhere to treatment guidelines. The world health Organization has classified antimicrobial resistance as one of the top 10 global health threats that must be attention. Antimicrobial resistance according to health professionals, increases the spread of disease, severe illness and deaths.
