Heavy snow blankets much of southern parts of Ireland | ABS-CBN News
Heavy snow left a white sheet over some southern parts of Ireland on Sunday (January 5) following heavy snowfall overnight and through the day. The southern Irish town of Cashel, around 140 kilometers (87 miles) southwest of Dublin, saw its local landmark - the Rock of Cashel covered in snow alongside much of the countryside around it. There was also plenty of snow across other parts of the British Isles, with snow falling over parts of Scotland, England and Wales. Britain's Met Office had issued an amber warning on Friday, its second-most severe after red, for snow and ice in parts of England and Wales for the weekend.
