A top cultural official is reporting signs of heightened interest in the number of children anticipated to play mass this Crop Over. Chief Cultural Officer at the National Cultural Foundation Andrea Wells says the NCF, through its expanded programmes celebrating the creativity of children at the community level over the years, are showing signs of bearing fruit. She made the remarks as the NCF accepted a monetary donation of 50 thousand dollars from the Sandy Lane Charitable Trust. It happened during the launch of the Junior Masquerade Project in association with Abeds, at the Erdiston Special Needs School. Ms. Wells says they continue to target and celebrate creative children and welcome the growth exhibited over the past two decades.
