Helen Mirren and Michael Sheen on why its so important theatre is accessible to all | ITV News
A new production starring Michael Sheen takes the audience on a "surreal and spectacular journey through the life and legacy of the man who transformed Britain's welfare state", according to the National Theatre. "The vision that grew out of that has to be reimagined now because the NHS is in all kinds of difficulties and whether that's about underfunding or whatever it might be it has to be reimagined for now and for the future to move on," Mr Sheen said. But, as he tells ITV News, the timeliness of the show's release has taken on extra importance given the modern-day pressures felt by the NHS and, what he feels, is the need for radical change. • Subscribe to ITV News on YouTube: http://bit.ly/2lOHmNj • Get breaking news and more stories at http://www.itv.com/news Follow ITV News on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/itvnews/ Follow ITV News on Twitter: https://twitter.com/itvnews Follow ITV News on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/itvnews/
