Sky News host Caroline Marcus has reacted to the prospect of soaring flight costs as a result of net zero fuel taxes in the UK. The new charge, which was introduced on January 1, requires airlines to fill their planes with at least two per cent green fuel. “A new net zero flight tax in the UK could add hundreds of dollars a year to the cost of flights, including for Australians travelling overseas,” Ms Marcus said. “Yet again these governments seem to care more about this warm fuzzy feeling of appearing to do the right thing for the environment … at the expense of its people’s budgets.”
