The province has offered a $10 million compensation package for historic wrongs against the Sons of Freedom Doukhobors. It's in response to it's treatment of children from the Doukhobor community in the West Kootenays between 1953 to 1959, when about 200 children were taken and confined to facilities in New Denver, B.C., over a six-year period. This week, B.C.'s attorney general was in Castlegar and Grand Forks to issue private apologies to the communities. As Corey Bullock reports, it’s a long-awaited recognition from the government.
