Home Affairs Minister criticises the Greens and Coalition's Gaza rhetoric

The Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke has accused the Greens and Coalition of using the war in Gaza for political gain - accusing the parties of inflaming local tensions. Speaking with the Daily Telegraph, Mr Burke contrasted what he called the Greens' 'performative outrage' with action by the federal government on Gaza. He also accused the Coalition of moving motions in Parliament solely for domestic political purposes. Mr Burke says he sees a direct connection between the Greens and Coalition's rhetoric - and the rise in antisemitic and Islamophobic incidents since the beginning of the war in Gaza.
