‘Horrific act of violence’: Anthony Albanese speaks out on Bondi Junction stabbing

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has spoken out about the stabbing at Bondi Junction Westfield describing it as a "horrific act of violence". Mr Albanese’s comments come after police confirmed five have been killed and several have been conveyed to hospital following the stabbing at the shopping centre. “This was a horrific act of violence indiscriminately targeted at innocent people going about an ordinary Saturday doing their shopping,” Mr Albanese said during a media conference on Saturday. “Tonight, the first thoughts of all Australians are with the victims of these terrible acts and their loved ones. “Our nation offers our deepest condolences and sympathies – to all those who are grieving for someone they’ve lost and we send our strength to those who have been injured. “Today, Bondi Junction was a scene of shock and violence, but it was all witness to the humanity and heroism of our fellow Australians, our brave police, our first responders and of course everyday people who could have never imagined that they would face such a moment.”
