‘Horrific misjudgements’ were made in US withdrawal from Afghanistan

Former British commander Richard Kemp says there were “horrific misjudgements” made in the United States’ withdrawal from Afghanistan. According to reports, the Trump transition team is compiling a list of senior current and former US military officers who were directly involved in the Afghanistan withdrawal and exploring whether they could be court-martialled for their involvement. “I think undoubtedly there were horrific misjudgements made which will have significant strategic effect on the United States and on Western democracies overall, but I think they were acting under the direction of the President of the United States,” Mr Kemp told Sky News Australia.
