Foodbank Australia Chief Executive Brianna Casey says households are questioning how they can “further tighten” their budgets due to the recent inflation figures released this month. “What we’re seeing right across Australia is households in financial hardship who are either dramatically reducing or altogether cutting out fresh fruit and vegetables and protein from their diet,” she told Sky News Australia. “It means that we’ve got skyrocketing demand in food relief organisations for those essential healthy nutritious products.”
