Emergency doctor James Smith who recently returned from working in Gaza says the deaths are 'incredibly tragic'. He says the conditions Palestinian face were 'intolerable back in October' and now it's 'almost unimaginable' Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has spoken to his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu, to tell him he is appalled at the aid workers' deaths. Karla McLaren says the UK is 'a key ally of Israel and should be working with the US and others to ensure that there are concrete consequences and actions taken to deter further breaches of international humanitarian law'.
