How lies about Haitians eating pets affect the residents of Springfield
A Haitian-rights group in the city of Springfield, Ohio, wants to see criminal charges filed against former U.S. President Donald Trump and his running mate JD Vance - over their unfounded accounts of migrants in the city eating cats and dogs... household pets. The Haitian Bridge Alliance non-profit filed paperwork Tuesday, September 24, asking a judge to formally charge both men for violating several Ohio statutes, including making false alarms and aggravated menacing. The repeated and false claims by Trump and Vance have led to harassment, bomb threats, and event cancellations. Our reporter Dan Williams is in Springfield, where he says many in the community are simply looking to move on.
