How Tropical Storm Trami rescue operations are progressing in the Philippines
At least 26 people in the northeastern Philippines have died from Tropical Storm Trami, which dumped unprecedented rainfall and triggered floods and landslides. More than 150,000 residents have been forced to flee their homes since Trami made landfall on Thursday (Oct 24). Flooding has isolated many villages and towns, while landslides have blocked major roads. Edgar Posadas, spokesperson of the Philippines’ Office of Civil Defense, gives CNA’s Asia First an update on the situation and rescue efforts.
