For more: https://www.cgtn.com/video The U.S. has re-designated the Houthis, officially called the Ansar Allah, as a terrorist organization after months of attacks on ships in the Red Sea. The Houthis have said their attacks are targeted at Israel-linked ships in solidarity with the people of Gaza. Last week, the U.S. and the UK launched air strikes on Yemen, saying they were targeting Houthi military installations, presumably with the expectation that the move would de-escalate the situation. The Houthis, however, insist that they will continue with their actions in the Red Sea until the attacks on Palestinians in Gaza have ceased. What more do we know about the Houthi group? Could the Western retaliation only serve to escalate the conflict? What role can the UN and other regional actors play in restoring peace in the region? Guests are Professor Glenn Diesen from the University of South-Eastern Norway; Foad Izadi, associate professor of American Studies at the University of Tehran; Wang Jin, associate professor at the Northwest University of China; and Prof. Robert Kelly from the Department of Political Science at Pusan National University.
