‘Human error’: Theory emerges following sinking of superyacht off the coast of Sicily

The chief of the Italian boat builder who made the luxury yacht which sank off the coast of Sicily earlier this week is suggesting human error is to blame for the incident. “The event the Perini encountered two days ago was an event that could have been managed with an average amount of attention,” The Italian Sea Group CEO Giovanni Costantino said. “Perini ships are absolutely safe as history certifies – there are a whole series of operations that highlight a chain of negative events that were negatively managed by those on board.”
