Hunter Biden pardon: Lawyer for president's son argues charges were “politically-inspired”

The lawyer for Joe Biden’s son, Hunter, spoke Monday after the U.S. President pardoned his son on Sunday, leading to a wave of criticism including from incoming president Donald Trump. Lawyer Mark Geragos said that as soon as Department of Justice Special Counsel Jack Smith “threw in the towel on Trump" by resigning and dismissing both of his cases, it occurred to Geragos that it was "the right time for Hunter to be pardoned.” “It was clearly a politically-inspired case,” Geragos added.
