Residents east of Paris have been left without running water and electricity as a result of flooding brought on by Hurricane Kirk on Friday. While hundreds of streets, homes and businesses have already been submerged by floodwaters in the area, French authorities are warning of a high risk of further floods in 30 different areas. Meteo France previously reported that gusts could hit between 75 and 93 mph in the Pyreness mountains, with up to 90 mm of rain expected in the southern Picardie and greater Paris regions. As the remnants of Hurricane Kirk continue to pass over western Europe, the owner of a temporarily closed pizzeria in Crecy-La-Chapelle told reporters “It is what it is,” as he began planning the cleanup of his popular eatery.
