Hurricane Milton beginning to make landfall in Florida

Florida residents are being warned to prepare for the worst case scenario as Hurricane Milton is making landfall on the state’s west coast. The storm has downgraded to a Category 3 system but is growing larger as it churns its way through the Gulf of Mexico. The city of Sarasota is expected to bear the brunt of the storm, but Hurricane Milton has already been whipping up destructive tornadoes ahead of its arrival. Authorities are concerned Hurricane Milton could be more deadly than Hurricane Helene, which battered the region in less than a fortnight.
