Residents who braved the storm as Hurricane Milton hit Florida say they were caught off guard when unexpected tornadoes hit areas before the hurricane itself. “I was watching the news and the news said hurricane coming, so prepare for the hurricane. I tried to get prepared for the hurricane, then the tornado hit," said St. Lucie County resident Calvin Lee Hamilton. "I'm like, 'the tornado hit before the hurricane? This is a double disaster.' So, you know, I'm glad that me and my family made it out alive. You know, we are in good shape," he added, Meanwhile, St Petersburg resident Jerald Gilchrist said he regretted his decision to no evacuate. “If I had to do it again, I don’t think I would. Matter of fact, during the storm, I thought about that, you know, that I made a bad decision," he said with a laugh.
