“I’m feeling fired up!”: Obama throws his support behind Kamala Harris at DNC 2024 | FULL
Former U.S. president Donald Trump made the case for Vice President and Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris on Tuesday, as he took the stage at the Democratic National Convention (DNC). “I’m fired up!,” he said as he addressed the crowd exactly 20 years after he first addressed the party as a relatively unknown state legislator in 2004. He would return four years later to accept his party’s nomination for president. As he took the stage on Tuesday, Obama appeared determined to draw a connection between his own campaign and the Harris campaign, even making a slight change to the iconic words he chanted at his victory speech in 2008 – “Yes, we can.” “Yes, she can,” he said as talked about Harris’ legacy and outlined her qualifications for the job of president. Obama talked about what he sees as the danger of a second Trump presidency, calling him “a 78-year-old billionaire who has not stopped whining about his problems.” “The other day, I head someone compare Trump to the neighbour who keeps running his leaf blower outside your window,” he added. When the crowd began to boo president Trump, however, Obama told them “No, don’t boo – Vote.” He ended the night harkening back to U.S. President Abraham Lincoln’s inaugural address, calling for the restoration of “our bonds of affection.” RELATED: https://globalnews.ca/news/10631148/obama-pelosi-democrats-biden-candidacy-presidential-election/ Subscribe to Global News Channel HERE: http://bit.ly/20fcXDc Like Global News on Facebook HERE: http://bit.ly/255GMJQ Follow Global News on X HERE: http://bit.ly/1Toz8mt Follow Global News on Instagram HERE: https://bit.ly/2QZaZIB #GlobalNews #obama #dnc2024 #dnc
