ICC Men's T20 World Cup: Afghanistan Into Semis

Afghanistan are through to the Semi Finals of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup after a nail-biting victory over Bangladesh last evening. The first-time Semi Finalists took first strike and could only tally 115 for 5 from their 20 overs. Rahmanullah Gurbaz top scored with 43. Rishad Hossain grabbed 3 wickets for Bangladesh while Taskin Ahmed took 1 for 12. There were several rain interruptions in the Bangladesh chase, but none long enough to have a major cut in overs. Bangladesh required 114 runs from 19 overs, but lost wickets at regular intervals. However, Litton Das' score of 54 not out always kept them in the chase. It would have taken something special for the Afghans to win and it came from Rashid Khan and Naveen-Ul-Haq both taking 4 wickets each. Bangladesh were dismissed for 105 in 17.5 overs, handing Afghanistan victory by 8 runs.
