Idle Busia export zone was expected to promote trade

Two years ago, the Busia Border Export Zone which was primed to provide close to 3,000 jobs to the people in the area was handed over to Busia District Administration by the Ministry of Trade and Cooperatives. It was supposed to promote value addition by processing agricultural products exported to Kenya.
