A Daily Telegraph survey reveals around two-thirds of people would like to work part of the week remotely and are willing to take a pay cut to do so. Sky News host Danica De Giorgio says “20-something” graduates should stay in the office as it is “unacceptable” to be sitting at home in your bed working in pyjamas. “An article in today’s Daily Telegraph caught my eye today, reporting 34 per cent of Australian workers are prepared to take a pay cut if it means they can work from home,” she said. “If you are a 20-something who has just graduated from university, and you are in your first job, sorry, go into the office and do some work. It is unacceptable to be sitting at home in bed in your pyjamas on your laptop doing work at midday; I just think it is terrible.” The survey revealed around 46 per cent of people work fully on-site, and two-thirds of people say they want to work remotely at least part of the week and are willing to receive a pay cut to achieve it.
