Inaugural Family Trends Report released by MSF

More than 85 per cent of Singapore families say their families are resilient and able to bounce back from difficult life events. This is according to the first-ever Family Trends Report released by the Social and Family Development Ministry. Meanwhile, fewer marriages were recorded last year, falling by 3.7 per cent from 2022. Professor Paulin Straughan, Director of the SMU Centre for Research on Successful Ageing, and Ishak Ismail, Chairman of the Families For Life Council, discuss the factors contributing to stable marriages in Singapore. They also elaborated on what a resilient family means and how families can grow to become resilient.
