Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi and his foreign minister Hossein Amirabdollahian were killed in a helicopter crash while crossing mountainous terrain near the Azerbaijan border. The charred wreckage was found on Monday (May 20) after an overnight search in blizzard conditions.
