Iraq, Syria condem U.S. attacks

Iraq and Syria on Saturday condemned the U.S. airstrikes against militia sites on their territory. Iran also criticized the attacks, calling them a "strategic error." The United States said it hit 85 targets linked to pro-Iranian militias and Iran's Revolutionary Guard Quds Force. Washington blames Iran-backed militants for the drone strike in Jordan that killed three U.S. soldiers last Sunday. Syria said the U.S. attacks caused casualties but did not give a number. A monitoring group said 23 people were killed. Across the border in Iraq, people in the town of Al Qaim complained that militia fighters stored weapons and explosives in a residential area. When it was attacked, explosions caused considerable damage.
