Is nuclear energy a viable solution to Australia's energy transition?

ATA consulting Peter Kerr has discussed whether nuclear power should be part of Australians future energy mix in the move to net zero. “In Australia, I don’t see it financially stacking up given the advantages we have around renewable energy and gas,” Mr Kerr told Sky News host Caroline Di Russo. “And we’ve not got a big market. “I think the challenge is it’s a little bit of a distraction in Australia, it will take at least 20 years from the start to get something up so. “So look I don’t disagree with the premise I guess, what’s the harm in at least planning for maybe plan C, if you need it in 2050, well let's at least start now having those conversations.”
