Israel appropriates 650 acres of West Bank

Israel’s Civil Administration, part of the Defence Ministry, said Thursday, Feb. 29, it had appropriated 650 acres of land in the occupied West Bank. The West Bank is among the territories captured by Israel in the 1967 Middle East war and is part of the land Palestinians are seeking statehood over. U.S. President Biden said Israel’s plan to add thousands of homes to existing settlements in the occupied West Bank is “inconsistent” with international law.
