Israel claims of Hezbollah cash bunker under Sahel hospital are false, director says
Israel claims that Hezbollah stashed hundreds of millions of dollars in cash and gold in a bunker built under Al Sahel hospital in the heart of Beirut in the Dahiya. The director of Al-Sahel Hospital said claims by Israel that a Hezbollah cash bunker was located beneath the hospital were “100 pre cent wrong," adding that, "We consider that they are directed at the entire health sector, and not just at the Sahel hospital." Meanwhile, an Israeli strike on Monday night near Beirut's Rafik Hariri Hospital, Beirut's main government medical facility, killed 13 people, according to Lebanese authorities. The Israeli military said the hospital itself had not been targeted and was not affected. "Whether they (Israel) say they directly or accidentally targeted us, or they didn't target us, no — we are targeted. With the knowledge that we have signs on all the hospital roofs, and there are signs up for the ICRC and signs to show this is a hospital, but unfortunately, shrapnel hit us yesterday,” said Rafik Hariri Hospital's director Jihad Saadeh.
