Israel-Gaza: Al-Jazeera bureau chief mourns loss of Journalist son
Al-Jazeera Gaza bureau chief Wael Al-Dahdouh mourned the loss of his son Sunday, one of two Palestinian journalists killed in an Israeli air strike on a car near Rafah, according to health officials and the journalists’ union. Hamza Al-Dahdouh was killed along with a second freelance journalist Mustafa Thuraya. A third freelance journalist Hazem Rajab was wounded in the attack. The Israeli Defence Forces did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Reuters following the strike. The Isreal-Hamas conflict that started on Oct. 7 has been deadly for journalists. As of Saturday, 77 journalists and media workers have been killed in Gaza, according to The Committee for the Protection of Journalists, an international watchdog.
