Israel-Gaza: Who is Marwan Barghouti, the "Palestinian Mandela"?

Since 2005, Palestinians in the West Bank have known no other leader than Mahmoud Abbas and he is not well regarded. Widely seen as corrupt, incompetent, and working hand-in-hand with the Israelis. Observers will tell you he fears losing – and who would he lose to? – most likely Marwan Barghouti who has been in prison for more than 20 years serving multiple life sentences – if Palestinians had a "Nelson Mandela," many believe it would be Barghouti.
