Israel likely to ‘press on’ with ground invasion following Beirut airstrikes

Deakin University Global Islamic Politics Chair Professor Greg Barton says Israel will likely “press on” with a ground operation following the airstrikes in Beirut. Israel has launched a major round of airstrikes in Beirut, claiming to be targeting Hezbollah headquarters. “Israel is likely to press on with a ground operation,” Mr Barton told Sky News Australia. “Not necessarily to occupy, but to try and move ground forces in and take out further Hezbollah leadership and command posts in the south of Lebanon.”
